Climbing up our mountains

  • The magnificent Puy Mary, awarded the “Grand site de France” label
  • Approximately 45 minutes’ walk from the Pas de Peyrol mountain pass to the summit
  • The effort is rewarded by a breathtaking panoramic view of the Cantalien mountains and the Massif du Sancy.
  • The not-to-be-missed Plomb du Cantal, the highest peak of the Cantal volcano at an altitude of 1855 m.
  • Can be reached by cable car from Le Lioran resort or on foot (4hrs) and from the Col de Prat de Bouc mountain pass (3 hours and 30 minutes).
  • The most discreet but just as stunning: Mont-Journal.
  • An estimated 4-hour walk from Ferrières Saint Mary.
  • Once at the summit, there is a breathtaking view of the Planèze de Saint-Flour, Le Cézallier, La Margeride and, of course, the Monts du Cantal!
