This National Vintage Vehicle Day was initiated by the Fédération Nationale des Véhicules d'Epoque (FFVE) to mark its 50th anniversary in 2017. It’s an opportunity to celebrate the importance of vintage cars and to highlight the efforts of enthusiasts, collectors, clubs and museums to promote them. Every June, the Murat Mécanique Rétro association invites you to come and discover this historic heritage in Murat.
The Club des Torpédos and the town of Murat were the first to get involved in organising this event, which was an instant hit with the public. To keep the event going, a group of volunteers got together and set up the Murat Mécanique Rétro association.
The event will feature almost 400 vintage vehicles: cars, motorbikes, lorries, buses and old timers, all on display in Murat’s old town centre and at the station.
The day is packed with events for all fans and novices of beautiful vintage cars, including a swap meet, exhibitions of advertising items, a grand parade through the streets of the town and an exceptional tombola! Every year, the association offers the chance to win a classic car and many other prizes! The 2022 edition featured a Peugeot 304 coupé and a motorbike! €2 raffle ticket available in certain shops and at the Murat tourist office.
