Situated in the heart of the Massif Central in the Cantal region, Le Lioran ski area attracts winter sports enthusiasts and novices alike. Its range of outdoor activities also gives the mountains a chance to flourish... in summer! Hiking, mountain biking and downhill mountain biking are just some of the activities not to be missed in summer.

As well as winter activities, Le Lioran resort has plenty to offer hikers, mountain bikers and trail runners alike, with a variety of trails leading up to the Monts du Cantal mountains!
Whether you’re on your own, a couple or with your entourage, you’re sure to find the activity that’s right for you: take the cable car up and/or down, the Rombière chairlift, Bike Park, giant zip line, “déval’luge” sledging, tree climbing, paintball, bouncy castles, orienteering course, quick jump, slip ‘n slide, horse riding, pony trekking, mini golf, footgolf or a well-deserved rest in the balneotherapy area.

Le Lioran in winter

The pride of the Cantal region and a privileged area for skiers…

With a ski area situated between an altitude of 1160 and 1850 metres, this mid-range mountain resort is a family-friendly destination. Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced skier, there are 43 slopes for all levels covering almost 60 km. Not into skiing?
That’s not a problem, as the resort offers a wide range of activities: snowshoe hikes, ice rink, “déval'luge” sledging, snake gliss, paintball, balneotherapy, the Wim Hof® method, yoga, and for the young ones: toboggan runs, electric snowmobile rides, pony sledging, bouncy castles...
As well as a packed programme of activities and events!

How to get here

The Cantal resort strives to accommodate you in the best possible conditions, with access by car, train or shuttle bus (in winter).

By car

  • 5 hours from Paris via the A71 and A75 motorways. Massiac exit.
  • 3 hours from Montpellier via the A75 motorway. Saint-Flour exit.
  • 3 hours 20 minutes from Lyon via the A72 and A75 motorways. Massiac exit.
  • 3 hours from Limoges via the N122, passing through Aurillac.
  • 1 hour 30 minutes from Clermont-Ferrand, via the A75 motorway, Massiac exit, then via the N122

By train

Le Lioran SNCF train station is located at the foot of the resort. During the winter period, there is a free shuttle service to the different areas of the resort (Font d'Alagnon and Prairie des Sagnes).

The star of the resort remains the Plomb du Cantal, at an altitude of 1855 m! You can get there by cable car, on foot or jogging, and you can also go down it on a mountain bike! The orientation table at the summit invites you to enjoy a 360° panoramic view at the heart of Europe’s largest volcano.
