Guided by the Bonjon stream, you’ll enjoy a breathtaking view of the Massif du Sancy, Mont Chamaroux and a lovely view of Marcenat, where you can see the dome of the Orthodox monastery.

Guidebook with maps/step-by-step

Start – Take the street behind the bakery. Turn left, then follow the cemetery. View of Mont Chamaroux. Cross the road and continue straight ahead, leaving the paths on your left.

1- Turn left. View of the south side of the Bonjon valley.

2- Go down in the plot.

3- At the road, turn right.

4- At the entrance to Batifoil, turn left. After the footbridge, the track forks to the right.

5- Turn left at the road.

6- 170 m further on, take the right-hand path.

7- Take the gravelled track on the right. View of the upper Bonjon valley and Mont Chamaroux.

8- Turn left then right up the road.

9- At 750 m, take a track in a pasture on the left.

10- Cross the hamlet above the barns. View of the Sancy massif. At the exit, turn left in front of the new building.

11- At the road, go down towards La Renordie. View of the Cézallier plateau, Mont Chamaroux. You can see the copper dome of the Traverse Orthodox Monastery.

12- At the end of the village, turn right through pastureland.

13- Cross the road and head downhill.

14- Cross the Bonjon and go back up into the woods.

15- Take the road on your right, then the path on your left. View of the Sancy massif.

16- Take the track opposite the Estival road. Back in 1, continue straight ahead.

17- Leave a track on your left and a street on your right at the end of the gravelled courtyard. Go back up to the main village street.
